Rahul Gandhi has cornered the ruling BSP government and the earlier SP government who subsequently exploited the state’s money and resources. He was speaking to the masses gathered at a public meet held at Balrampur in Uttar Pradesh.
“You must remember – what happened in the Samajwadi Party’s rule. Police station was run by criminals. They were full of criminals. No FIR was lodged. To file a case you need to pay something,” said the Congress general secretary.
The charismatic Congress leader has been emphasising on the way leader should connect to the masses to understand their problems. Rahul said, “The problem is your leader does not go to the poor. Tell me. Did the SP or the BSP come to you? Do they ever try to know your concerns and problems?”
The Congress MP from Amethi has expressed several times before in different public meeting his anger and concerns over corruption and malpractice in the state. He has been saying the leaders are not trying to understand the problems of the poor and the common man rather they are indulging in “cruel corruption”.
Rahul Gandhi said something unusual and interesting to the gathering there. “Yes, there was a time Mulayamji used to go to the poor and even Mayawati did at some point of time. But not know. I know Mulayamji. I’ve learnt from him. But he does not go there anymore.”
