Sonia Gandhi: Congress fights elections to bring back the pride of Uttar Pradesh

Congress President Sonia Gandhi while speaking at an election rally at the historic Allahabad as part of her Congress campaign for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh informed the people that her party Congress is fighting elections to bring back the lost pride of the state and also to bring back Uttar Pradesh on the track of development. The UPA Chairperson charged that for the past 22 years no development took place in the state and as a result the state slipped backward.

Sonia Gandhi then informed “Congress is fighting elections to take Uttar Pradesh to the heights of progress and development. We are fighting elections to bring back the pride of Uttar Pradesh. We deliver what we promise. We have been fulfilling the promises made in our election manifesto.”

No coalition governments had mad polices like the revolutionary policies and schemes framed by the UPA Government. Under the leadership of Manmohan Singh Ji, our Government designed the biggest employment scheme to guarantee 100 days of job for every poor at a daily wage of Rs. 120. The UPA also framed policies like Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission to ensure house, water, education and roads, National Rural Health Mission to provide adequate health facilities for the poor, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan to ensure that every children in the age group of 6 to 14 get proper education free of cost, Mid-day meal scheme to ensure food to every children in the schools and Rajiv Gandhi Electrification Scheme to provide electricity at every place. Now we are ready with the food Security Bill to make sure that no one in the country lives in hunger. But what is happening? The opposition is trying to block the policy and is spreading baseless allegations,” said the Congress President.
