Sonia Gandhi: BJP Government uses the Central funds to fulfill its own vested interests

Congress and President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi who has been campaigning in poll bound Uttarakhand said that the incumbent BJP Government in the state is not implementing the polices of the Congress led UPA Government at the centre properly. Sonia Gandhi also alleged the state government is misusing the funds sent by the Centre.

The Congress President said instead of implementing these schemes for the benefit of the genuine people, the BJP government used the money to fulfill its "own vested interests". Sonia Gandhi said the money was give to "their own party men".

She tried to strike an emotional chord with the people of Almora and called the town her family's second home. "My family has had a long association with the beautiful town. Pandit (Jawaharlal) Nehru spent many days in Almora jail during the freedom struggle," Sonia Gandhi said.
