BSP, SP, BJP fooling people with promises: Rahul Gandhi

Hitting hard against parties like BSP, SP and BJP for ruling Uttar Pradesh over the last 22 years without ensuring welfare of the people and development of the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said these parties have been fooling people with false promises to grab their votes. A mere piece of paper listing promises is of no use, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Lucknow for the ongoing Assembly elections. He tore off a paper to show that that such promises are worthless. Referring to promise by SP to provide free electricity to the people, Rahul Gandhi said Mulayam during his three tenures as CM did not start a single power plant; then from where would this electricity come. Not sparing BSP either, he said Mayawati promised good governance in 20078 Assembly elections but after becoming CM she is running the most corrupt government. Referring to BJP, he said LK Advani took yatra against corruption but did not mind taking the biggest thief of UP Babu Singh Kushwaha in the party. Highlighting that these parties have failed to bring about progress and development in the state, Rahul Gandhi urged the people to vote for change this time and assured that Congress (I), if voted to power, will work to fulfill the aspirations of the people by bring progress and development. ‘We will do all that for the people which these parties failed to do during the last 22 years, he added.
