All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public rally at Bhadohi asserted that his fight is not to attain any power post but to ensure that the voice of the poor reach the concerned Government offices.
Rahul Gandhi also took a dig at BJP for its ‘India Shining’ slogan during 2004 Parliament elections. “Why am I reminding you of 2004? I am just questioning this mentality. They ruled the country for five years, but never went to the people, poor or downtrodden, interacted with them or asked about their grievances, still believed blindly that India was shining,” said Rahul Gandhi.
Striking an emotional chord with the people of UP the Congress leader continued, “you have the knowledge. I studied in America and I did my masters from England. But even the professors at foreign universities could not give me the knowledge that I gathered during the past seven years from the people of Bundelkhand.” The huge crowd acknowledged his remarks with loud applauds.
