Rahul Gandhi: Mayawati is more interested in power than serving the people

Attacking the non-Congress parties - BSP, SP and BJP - for not doing anything for the progress and development in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Congresses (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that these parties were responsible for the backwardness of Uttar Pradesh. “These non-Congress parties have done nothing over the past 22 years except promoting corruption”, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a Congress rally in Raebareli as part of his Congress campaign in the state.

“Whatever development you see in Rae Bareli and Amethi are because of the Congress led Centre, Rahul Gandhi – the young Congress MP from Amethi, added.

"What has been done by the state government in the past 22 years...something must have been done... Mayawati and Mulayam Singh ruled the state. I can't see anything, I come to your homes...whatever change we can see in Raebareli and Amethi has been done by the central government led by the Congress. State government has done nothing" Rahul Gandhi claimed.

Rahul Gandhi continued, “I am fighting your battle in Uttar Pradesh since the past two-three months and would continue to do so but you would also have to fight it as it is also the struggle of the people and women and their future.” Arguing that Mayawati is more interested in power than in serving the people, Rahul Gandhi requested the people to vote for change this time and assured that Congress (I) will work for welfare of the people and development of the state.
