Expressing his concern over the present bad state of affairs in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) General Secretary
Rahul Gandhi had said that there has been no appreciable development in Uttar Pradesh though non-Congress parties like BSP, SP and BJP had been ruling the state for the two decades. The Congress led central government has been sending huge funds for development of the state, Rahul Gandhi had said during his recent campaigns for UP Assembly elections. Why there is no development, why the people have been denied the most basic needs like
bijli, pani and
sadak, asked the Congress leader. “Why there are no job opportunities here which compel the youth to leave their own state in search of jobs in other states”, continued Rahul Gandhi.
Pointing out to fast development taking place in Congress (I) ruled states like Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, the Congress leader said that stagnation in UP was the result of wrong policies of these parties. Underlining that these non-Congress parties have wasted 22 years of the people without bringing any development, Rahul Gandhi made a strong appeal to the people to give five years to Congress (I) and see what it can do. “We will put the state on fast track development and you will be able to see the change in the next five years,” Rahul Gandhi told the crowd.
