Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi said that the Congress always believed in secularism and always stood to protect the secular credentials in the country. While addressing a Congress rally in West Bengal the Congress President slammed the opportunistic alliance of the BJP-led NDA and said that they never bothered about the people especially the aam aadmi and the poor.

She also said that a number of people including the Congress workers were killed in different political clashes in the state.
