He got a rousing welcome at Fursatganj airport where people gathered in large numbers to greet their favourite leader. “Whenever I come to Amethi, I feel that I have come home. My relationship with Amethi is not political, but it is my family” said Rahul Gandhi striking an emotional chord with the people.

There is no Congress Government here but I hope we will have one soon," added Rahul Gandhi. "Our government at the centre is making full efforts to take the country forward" said the newly appointed Congress Vice-President. He thanked the people of Amethi for the overwhelming support, affection and encouragement extended to him.
