Vajpayee’s flip-flops statements were harmful for country’s harmony: Congress

BJP-led NDA turned out be an ignoble chapter in the country’s history. Utterances of BJP government as well as of its Prime Minister were neither coherent nor conducive in any manner. In his Kumarakom musings, January 2001, Vajpayee said, "Worse still, a campaign was launched to create misgivings about me in the minds of our minority brethren." But while campaigning for the UP Assembly elections of 2002, he said, "We do not need Muslim support to form a government". This exposed hidden agenda of the BJP government. Instead of working for country harmony, Vajpayee kept on making statements which were not expected from senior leader of the party much less from the Prime Minister of the country. This clearly demonstrated that BJP was implementing its hidden agenda to impose its ideology on the country, on people and on the administration including bureaucratic officials.
