Lashing out against Mulayam Singh Yadav for not fighting for the cause of poor and farmers of UP, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said Samajwadi Party did not stand with them in the hour of dire need. Farmers and villagers who comprise a large majority are worst affected by corruption, Rahul Gandhi said while campaigning for the ongoing Assembly elections. When Mayawati government committed atrocities on farmers in Bhatta-Parsol, Mulayam’s SP was nowhere. But Raul Gandhi took up the farmers cause and fought to get them justice. Again while benefits of welfare schemes for poor people are not reaching the poor, Mulayam does not struggle for securing seeds, fertilizers and due prices for farmers’ produce. Mulayam even betrayed Muslim minority community by joining hands with Kalyan Singh’s party in 2009. Highlighting that SP Supremo did not work for the poor, farmers and Muslim, Rahul Gandhi urged the people to vote for Congress (I). He assured that his party would ensure welfare of the entire people including farmers and Muslim minority.
