Blaming Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav for corruption and lack of development in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said the people of UP are fed up with the misrule of these leaders. These regional leaders have indulged in loot of public funds and corruption, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting for the upcoming Assembly elections. While neighboring states like Haryana and Delhi are fast developing, there is no progress in Uttar Pradesh, he further said. “Tell me which state has not developed under Congress (I) rule in the country,” he asked the audience. Congress (I)-led UPA has been sending welfare and developmental schemes with thousands of crore of rupees but there is nothing on the ground here, he added. These leaders have looted the funds instead of spending on the welfare and development schemes. Urging the people to vote for Congress (I) this time, he assured that his party would bring accelerated development which they would be able to see in only five years time.
