Sonia Gandhi slams PM Modi for not delivering on promises

Congress President Sonia Gandhi took on the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not delivering on the promises made. She also targeted Modi govt for its stand on Pakistan over ceasefire violations. Sonia Gandhi also asserted that it was because of consistent fight by the Congress, the centre had to go back on land bill.

Rahul Gandhi addresses Congress Chief Ministers

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a conference of the Chief ministers of the party ruled states. She pointed out that the attempt to reduce coverage of food security from 67% to 40% is alarming while the entire system of food procurement, including MSP (minimum support price to farmers) is under assault.

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi hoisted the tricolour at party headquarters on the occasion of country’s 67th Independence day. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and senior ministers and party leaders also attended the event.

Sonia Gandhi distributes sweets among children on the occasion. "Today I will only say Happy Independence Day to all of you," the Congress President told the media persons.

Union Ministers A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Salman Khurshid and senior leaders Ahmed Patel, Ambika Soni and Janardan Dwivedi were among others present on the occasion.
