Corruption in every nook and corner of Mayawati govt: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has said Mayawati’s government has not spared any department of the government which could be called corruption free. Instead of creating state assets, Mayawati government has been selling sugar mills with thousands of crores land value for a modest amount to private businessmen and industrialists like Ponty Chaddha. Similarly power projects have been given away in scandalous manner resulting into thousands of crores loss to the common consumer and the State Exchequer. Recently Mayawati government entered into a contract for purchase of electricity from a private company at a much higher rate by ignoring a NTPC which had offered much lower rates. Similarly power supply for Agra region has given to private company along with thousands of crores of assets at the cost of the common consumer of Agra. Thus Mayawati has taken corruption to every nook and corner of the UP government departments, said Congress (I).
