Congress (I) has said Mayawati’s BSP government did not have any agenda for development of the state of Uttar Pradesh much less any plan to expanding industrial base of the state. Mayawati has been insistently engaged in manipulating levers of the government for personal and party gains ignoring that such things do not serve the public purpose. To grab the political power Mayawati took in the party persons of criminal background who managed to put her in the seat of Chief Minister. Since then they have been extracting their price from Mayawati. Congress (I) said Mayawati chose to ride the lion but now she can not dismount. How much Mayawati may do now to refurbish her image but the terrible damage has been done to it. Development of the state has come to stand still. Existing industries have been wound up or in the process of closure. In its place Mayawati has established new industry of crime, corruption and abduction in the state, Congress (I) has said.
