Under Mayawati’s rule hospitals are without doctors: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has said Mayawati has messed up with medical services in Uttar Pradesh. There is rampant corruption in UP health care services. Medical services are virtually paralysed at BRD Medical college hospital while Encephalitis patients are turning up at the hospitals. Mayawati government has failed to manage the health system in the state, said Congress (I). It is not money that is short for treatment of the patients. Rather it is mismanagement and corruption in the state of UP that stands in the way, said Congress (I). Congress (I)-led UPA government at the Centre has provided huge funds running into thousands of crores to UP government for improving health services. But either the money has not been spent or it has been siphoned off by corrupt officials in league with Mayawati’s ministers. Congress (I)-led UPA especially selected Uttar Pradesh for implementing National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). But UP government failed to implement this health scheme properly. Mayawati is squarely responsible for bad health services in the pradesh, said Congress (I).
