Accusing UP Chief Minister for not providing dalits and poor employment under central government sponsored employment scheme: Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), Congress (I) has said Mayawati has deprived them of their rights under the beneficial welfare scheme. Congress (I) has highlighted that it was Mayawati who had said central government sponsored MNREGA scheme for providing employment to dalits and poor people in rural areas would not be useful. But now with an eye on upcoming elections Mayawati is saying that if she comes to power at the Centre changes would be brought in the MGNREGS to give employment to jobless people all the 365 days in a year. This exposes the hypocrisy Mayawati’s hypocrisy. She is now putting out to the poor the benefits the scheme to get their votes but had let the money meant for poor reach into the pockets of ministers and party men, said Congress.
