Lashing out against UP Chief Minister for having done nothing for development of the state, Congress (I)-led UPA government at centre of its own has sanctioned numbers of central projects for development of the Uttar Pradesh. The Centre would be spending Rs 3,124 crore on these projects, which would benefit farmers in 24 districts. These projects include Irrigation projects, Sarayu Nahar Pariyojana and Restoring capacity of Sharada Sahayak Project cleared by the Union Water Resources Ministry as national projects, with the Centre bearing 90 per cent of the total cost of Rs 3,557 crore. A Steel unit has been sanctioned by Union Steel Ministry for setting up a joint venture steel processing unit at Barabanki and Lakhimpur Kheri. Apart these projects, Congress (I)-led UPA governments has recently approved 4.5 per cent quota for minorities for reservation in government jobs while Land Acquisition and Food Security’s are already before the Parliament and would benefit the UP, said Congress (I) spokesman.
