Sonia Gandhi lays foundation stone of rail wheel plant at Lalganj in Raebareli

Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi accompanied by her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, laid the foundation stone of an ambitious rail wheel manufacturing unit in Lalganj at Raebareli. This factory will be the biggest of its kind in the country. The unit will come up within the coach manufacturing unit already functioning in the region. “We know that employment generation is possible only if there is progress. Development takes the country forward and brings positive changes in our life. I hope that this factory also will play a big role towards development of this region” said Sonia Gandhi while addressing the gathering.

Lucknow:  Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Uttar Pradesh's first All India Institute of Medical Sciences complex in her parliamentary constituency, Raebareli.

Sonia Gandhi, accompanied by her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, performed "bhoomi pujan" near old sugar mill at Munshiganj after which construction work for the building has begun. The project is estimated to cost Rs 1,000 crore.

The Congress President also visited the District Agriculture Science Centre and launched Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) training programme. Sonia Gandhi later laid the foundation stone of city resource center of housing and urban poverty alleviation ministry, to be constructed by HUDCO.

She also met a girl - 17-year-old Renu - treated by the Smile Train, which provides free cleft and palate treatment across India, at SimHans hospital at Gora Bazar, and enquired about her health.

Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited her Parliamentary constituency Raebareli on Tuesday along with her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Sonia Gandhi laid the foundation stone for an AIIMS at Munshiganj in the constituency. Later in the day the Congress President laid the foundation of rail wheel factory to be set up by SAIL near the Rail Coach Factory(RCF) at Lalganj.

Sonia Gandhi’s health stable, discharged from the hospital

New Delhi: Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi who was admitted in Delhi’s AIIMS after she felt uncomfort while attending the Lok Sabha proceedings on Monday night, was discharged from hospital at 1:30 am on Tuesday.
"Mrs Gandhi had cold and a headache. She had a medicine and started feeling uneasy in Parliament. She came here, we conducted tests... everything is normal. She left for home in her own car," a doctor at AIIMS informed.

Sonia Gandhi, 66, was taken to AIIMS from Parliament after she complained of chest pain. She had left during voting on amendments to the food security bill, a historic welfare scheme Sonia Gandhi has championed ardently. Her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were with her at the hospital.

In her historic speech in the Lok Sabha on Monday, the Congress Presdient appealed to all parties to unanimously support a chance to make history by passing the food security bill that legally entitles 67 per cent of India to subsidized food.

The AIIMS spokesperson had said that she had been taken to the Intensive Care Unit as a precaution, but said there was "nothing serious" about her condition.
