Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra: People laughing at Modi’s ‘acche din’ promise

While addressing election rallies at Maharashtra as part of his campaign for the upcoming assembly electio0ns in the state, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that after promising “achhe din” (good times), he was now fobbing off the people with the assurance that “jaldi thik ho jayega” (things will be all right soon) along the border with Pakistan.Addressing a rally at Saswad in Pune Rahul Gandhi said that during the Lok Sabha election campaign Mr Modi used to say that he would scare off Pakistan and China. “The last few days have seen ceasefire violations by Pakistan, which had not happened in the last ten years. There are casualties but still Modi says ‘jaldi thik ho jayega’,” he said. “Our jawans are being killed, our children are being slaughtered,” he said. “Earlier achhe din (good times) were promised. Now people laugh at this slogan,” said the Congress leader.

In a blistering attack on Modi's much hyped Gujarat model, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi called it a 'toffee model' and also listed out some figures to question the development claims of BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Gujarat. "Nowadays there are huge talks about Gujarat model. You must have heard about senior BJP leaders Advani and Jaswant Singh. Today, BJP has sidelined these leaders under its new leader Modi. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi launched the campaign in Maharashtra for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls from Wardha on Friday. While addressing the big gathering the Congress slammed the BJP and reiterated that its campaign balloon will burst this time too like in 2004 and 2009. "The poor people of India had deflated the India shining Balloon of NDA twice, in 2004 and 2009. This time they have flown a new, heavier balloon, the Gujarat model; and people of India will deflate this balloon of 'Gujarat model' as well. India is going to have yet another Congress government that works for the poor and downtrodden", said Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi addresses Congress rally at Aurangabad in Maharashtra takes on BJP and Modi
